Fenwick has recently opened the doors to its newly revamped beauty hall at its flagship store in Newcastle. This significant transformation sees the beauty department expand to a vast 26,000 square feet, marking it as one of the largest in the UK outside London. The refurbishment has introduced two large atriums and 56 feet of facade windows that overlook the bustling Northumberland Street, alongside the addition of more than 1,600 square feet of terrazzo flooring.
This extensive space now houses 163 beauty brands, offering a wide variety for customers seeking premium products. Among these are well-known names such as Chantecaille, Charlotte Tilbury, Guerlain’s premium L’Art Matier, Hourglass, and Le Labo. The new layout and facilities aim to provide a ‘beauty oasis,’ enhancing the overall customer experience.
In addition to the vast array of products, the renovation includes the inclusion of 23 new beauty counters and a novel fragrance bar stretching 50 feet, showcasing an impressive selection of scents. This expansion is part of Fenwick’s strategy to create a ‘destination shopping experience’, meeting diverse beauty needs under one roof.
Fenwick director of buying and merchandising, Hazel Ayers, described the hall as “the UK’s largest beauty hall outside of London.” She highlighted the project’s meticulous planning over three years, involving close collaborations with beauty brands and Fenwick’s dedicated team. This transformation reflects the continued evolution of Fenwick’s in-store experience, bringing innovative products and expert beauty services to the forefront.
This strategic revamp aligns with broader trends in the department store sector, where other retailers like Selfridges and John Lewis are also overhauling their beauty departments to attract more customers.
The newly transformed beauty hall at Fenwick Newcastle sets a new standard in retail beauty experiences with its extensive offerings and modern design.
