In anticipation of the festive season, major supermarkets, Tesco and Aldi, have introduced their latest range of Christmas-themed sandwiches, bringing a savoury taste of the holidays to the aisles.
Tesco is set to launch its new Christmas Meal Deal range on 21 October, featuring eight innovative products within its core and premium meal deals. Among the new offerings are the Christmas Cracking Currywurst Sub, the Ho-Ho-Hog Wrap, and the Plant Chef Christmas Veg Fest Wrap. The Premium Meal Deal, available for £5 to Clubcard holders, is enhanced with three fresh seasonal options: the Finest Festive Chicken & Bacon Wrap with Gravy Mayonnaise Dip, the Festive Chicken, Bacon & Stuffing Mayo Baguette, and the Finest Turkey BLT.
Furthermore, Tesco has expanded its assortment of festive snacks, which now includes Mini Christmas Bangers accompanied by Gravy Mayo Dip, alongside Christmassy Chicken Bites with a Festive Cranberry Dip. These additions reflect Tesco’s ambition to cater to diverse culinary tastes during the holiday season.
Concurrently, Aldi has rolled out its own Christmas sandwich collection, now accessible in stores. This year’s selection features the Christmas Club Triple Sandwich priced at £2.39 and the Smoked Chicken & The Trimmings Toastie, available for £1.89. Aldi is also reintroducing popular selections from previous years, such as the Specially Selected Seafood Cocktail Bloomer, which retails for £2.69 and has been recognised with a Quality Food Awards 2024 nomination. The supermarket continues to diversify its offerings with vegetarian and vegan choices, including the Brie & Cranberry Chutney Sandwich and the Vegan Festive Feast Sandwich, both priced at £1.99.
The unveiling of these festive sandwiches by Tesco and Aldi underscores their commitment to enhancing the holiday shopping experience with a variety of seasonal flavours. These offerings not only cater to traditional tastes but also embrace plant-based preferences, ensuring inclusivity in festive feasting.
