- These appointments follow the successful year marked by a significant increase in profits and sales.
- CEO David Pujolar views these changes as pivotal in maintaining and boosting the company’s market presence.
Footasylum has strategically strengthened its leadership team by appointing Will Van Rensburg as the new Chief Commercial Officer and Glen Wilkinson as Senior Buying Director. These appointments are instrumental as Footasylum aims to continue its growth and development in the competitive retail market.
Will Van Rensburg, who joined Footasylum last month following a tenure as Senior Vice President of Commercial at Clarks, brings a wealth of experience from nearly eight years at Under Armour. His last role at Under Armour was as Global Commercial Director. In his new position, Van Rensburg is set to oversee commercial operations, focusing on executing Footasylum’s strategy to drive future growth.
Glen Wilkinson is set to begin his role as Senior Buying Director later in the month, working closely with Chief Product Officer Leon Mullin. Wilkinson’s past experience includes senior roles at Ecco, Reebok, and New Balance. Most recently, he served as Head of Buying and Merchandising at AW LAB. His role will principally involve enhancing Footasylum’s product offerings and market reach.
These leadership changes follow the appointment of David Pujolar as CEO and coincide with Footasylum’s record financial performance for the year ending 27 January 2024. The retailer reported a more than double increase in pre-tax profits, reaching £6 million, with total revenue growing by 7% to £319.5 million. Online revenue surged by 15% to £134.9 million, and wholesale sales saw an impressive rise of 87% to £16.8 million.
David Pujolar expressed confidence in the new appointees, highlighting their extensive experience and potential contributions to strengthening Footasylum’s market position. Van Rensburg emphasised the importance of expanding and deepening partnerships, while Wilkinson focused on innovation and serving the consumer community.
Overall, these leadership enhancements are expected to support Footasylum’s growth ambitions and further establish its market presence.
