Frasers Group has announced the addition of Sir Jon Thompson to its board as a non-executive director. Sir Jon’s appointment is part of a series of new appointments first disclosed in February, highlighting the group’s strategic growth and development plans.
Sir Jon Thompson’s extensive experience includes serving as the CEO of the Financial Reporting Council from 2019 to 2023, overseeing major projects and regulatory responsibilities. Before this, he was the CEO of HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) between 2016 and 2019, where he played a crucial role in managing significant operational change programmes.
His governmental experience is further underscored by his tenure as the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Defence from 2012 to 2016, where he led major projects. Earlier, he was appointed as the director general of finance at the Ministry of Defence, director general of corporate services at the Department for Education, and finance director of Ofsted.
