Greggs and Fenwick have joined forces once again, launching a new champagne bar.
- The previous collaboration, the Bistro Greggs, attracted over 8,000 visitors.
- This new venture pairs Greggs’ popular baked goods with high-end Champagnes.
- The champagne bar will operate on a reservation-only basis during the festive period.
- This initiative highlights innovative partnerships between two iconic North East brands.
Greggs is making a noteworthy return to luxury retailer Fenwick to unveil a champagne bar, following the previous buzz generated by the Bistro Greggs. Last year’s collaboration between these two prominent North East firms introduced a unique dining experience in Newcastle that captivated the public’s attention.
The Bistro Greggs, notable for its silver-service presentation of classic Greggs products like sausage rolls and steak bakes, attracted over 8,000 patrons within just one month. Such success spurred aspirations for a repeat collaboration, which materialised with the new champagne pairing.
In this fresh venture, Greggs’ beloved bakes and rolls will be matched with an array of premium Champagnes, promising to become a much-anticipated attraction leading up to Christmas. This inventive concept is designed to elevate traditional offerings into a luxurious experience.
Strategic Partnerships Director Leo Fenwick expressed pride in partnering again with Greggs, stating: ‘After the phenomenal success of last year’s Bistro Greggs at Fenwick, we are proud to once again partner with the fellow North East icon, Greggs, to launch Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick offering a fun and truly unique customer experience.’ The pop-up will enhance Fenwick’s evolving restaurant offerings.
Set to open on October 24 and run until December 25, the Greggs Champagne Bar will reside in Fenwick’s Food Hall, accessible only through reservations. The menu, crafted by Fenwick executive head chef Mark Reid in tandem with Greggs, includes steak bakes with peppercorn aioli and sausage rolls reinvented with hot honey chilli sauce. Champagnes for the pairing include Bollinger Rosé and Laurent Perrier, with prices peaking at £425 per bottle.
The bar’s aesthetic draws inspiration from the Belle Epoque era, featuring a curved bar seating just 16 guests. An elegant touch involves ringing vintage, crystal bells for Champagne refills. Customer Director Hannah Squirrell noted the unique food-drink pairing, remarking, ‘Whilst Champagne and Greggs might not be the most immediate food and drink pairing, following the success and reaction to our Greggs Bistro last year, we’re excited for the launch of the Greggs Champagne Bar at Fenwick.’
This collaboration exemplifies the potential of innovative partnerships in delivering unique consumer experiences.
