Boohoo Group executives find themselves at the centre of a serious investigation as Manchester and Kent police scrutinise allegations of stalking and corporate espionage. Reports indicate that prominent figures within the company, such as Dan Finley, John Lyttle, and co-founder Mahmud Kamani, have been subject to secret surveillance.
The alleged stalkers reportedly trailed these executives on public transport and in various locations around London, Manchester, and Kent. Highlighting a worrying trend, some directors reported being watched from their homes. An incident of assault was mentioned involving chair Mahmud Kamani. Meanwhile, John Lyttle, who recently resigned, claimed to have encountered trespassers on his property.
Adding a layer of complexity to the case, Boohoo unearthed surveillance equipment outside its Manchester headquarters on 13 November. This device purportedly captured footage of staff entering and leaving the premises. The discovery prompted immediate action, with the equipment being handed to the police and the incident reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office and local authorities.
The police have stated that their probe remains active, focusing on crimes that have caused significant alarm and distress. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed an ongoing investigation, while Kent Police are examining similar reports of stalking within the Sevenoaks region. Despite these efforts, no arrests have been made to date.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, a Boohoo representative informed that commenting would not be appropriate during the active investigation, underscoring the sensitivity surrounding the allegations.
Investigations continue as authorities aim to resolve these serious claims without rush.
