John Lewis has officially launched its Christmas shops in 35 of its stores, welcoming customers into the festive season with an array of products designed to inspire and delight. This strategic move comes as the department store prepares for the bustling holiday shopping period. Dedicated areas within these stores now offer an extensive selection of Christmas essentials, from trees and baubles to unique wreaths and thoughtful gifting options. Such a comprehensive collection is available together for the first time across 15 of its stores, providing a centralised shopping experience for all holiday needs.
In addition to the expansive product range, John Lewis is introducing a variety of festive activities aimed at enhancing the customer experience. The Quality Street pick and mix returns, allowing visitors to create custom selections of their favourite sweets. Also new this year are Lego ‘Make and Take’ workshops in 14 locations, designed to engage families and inspire creativity among younger visitors.
Augmenting the festive offerings, personalised products, including Tony’s Chocoloney gift boxes, are presented as new options, catering to those seeking unique, thoughtful gifts. The introduction of these features reflects John Lewis’s commitment to providing a personalised and joyous shopping experience.
The launch follows the successful opening of the John Lewis online Christmas shop last month. Reports indicate that sales of individual baubles have surged by 130% compared to last year. Moreover, there is a notable 87% increase in the sales of wrapping paper, underscoring early customer readiness for the festive season.
Lisa Cherry, Head of Christmas at John Lewis, commented on the retailer’s exciting new offerings: “We know our customers come to John Lewis for all their festive inspiration, from thoughtfully curated home decorations to specially selected gifting options.” She expressed particular excitement about the introduction of the first-ever pink Christmas tree, described as a ‘statement maker,’ and other exclusive decorations associated with the Sugar & Spice collection. New this year is the Pri Pri brand, known for its wreaths and decorations crafted from upcycled saris by a former John Lewis partner.
John Lewis is poised to captivate customers this festive season with its extensive Christmas offerings and engaging in-store experiences.
