Lidl is set to bring festive cheer across the UK this winter with its own Christmas truck.

Lidl is set to embark on an ambitious journey this festive season by introducing its own Christmas truck tour. Echoing the renowned Coca-Cola festive truck, Lidl’s 20-metre long, 15-tonne red vehicle, emblazoned with the Freeway cola brand, will traverse the United Kingdom. The tour is scheduled to cover nine cities, including Dundee, Harrogate, and Hull, between 14 November and 1 December.
In an inspiring move to engage with communities, Lidl plans to distribute over 2,000 present boxes from its truck on a first-come, first-served basis. These boxes are packed with surprises from Lidl’s middle aisle, providing a significant delight and value to recipients. Additionally, the grocer will offer festive food items as part of their community engagement initiative.
Some fortunate customers will also receive £100 vouchers towards their food shop, amplifying the festive spirit. Joanna Gomer, the marketing director for Lidl GB, emphasised the importance of giving back to communities. “Giving back to the communities we serve is really important to us and our exciting new Freeway truck allows us to get right into the heart of them this year,” she stated.
Lidl’s strategic approach involves not only distributing gifts and culinary treats but also creating memorable experiences. By spanning nine UK stops, the initiative aims to foster goodwill and community connections. “By touring nine stops across the country, we’ll be using our giant truck to hand out present boxes, give away festive food shops and grant wishes that will make dreams come true,” Gomer added.
