Lush has introduced a new collection that pays homage to The Body Shop’s renowned products.
- The collection rejuvenates over twelve of the vegan beauty chain’s iconic items.
- Lush co-founders reflected on their shared history with The Body Shop amid its recent financial upheavals.
- The new line features updates on beloved products such as ginger shampoo and cocoa body butter.
- Lush’s version is now available online, with in-store availability set for November.
Lush, the vegan beauty retailer, has launched a new collection inspired by The Body Shop’s best-selling products. This initiative offers a fresh reinterpretation of more than a dozen popular items spanning hair, body, and skincare. These reformulated products include updated versions of The Body Shop’s ginger shampoo, banana conditioner, and hemp hand cream, bringing them into the modern age while maintaining their core appeal.
The shared history between Lush and The Body Shop is noteworthy, as Lush’s founder, Mark Constantine, originally contributed formulations to The Body Shop’s top products. The collapse of The Body Shop into administration earlier this year has invoked nostalgia among Lush co-founders, who decided to revisit the formulas that originally shaped their journey in the beauty industry.
Customers can expect to see these new offerings online and in larger stores by November. This launch coincides with The Body Shop’s rescue from administration by its new owner, Aurea, an investment company helmed by Mike Jatania. This acquisition has reduced The Body Shop’s operations from 198 to 133 stores, reflecting significant structural changes within the company.
The union of historical ties and innovative formulations in this new collection represents a tribute to the pioneering paths forged by both brands decades ago. The revival of these classic formulas by Lush, known as “The Lush Version,” seeks to honour the creative spirit shared with The Body Shop’s founder, Anita Roddick.
Lush’s latest collection not only revives beloved products but also celebrates its historical ties with The Body Shop.
