Majestic Wine is advancing its growth strategy by opening a new wine emporium in Plymouth, positioned within the premises of The Range’s head office. This move transforms an otherwise underutilised area into a vibrant retail space, covering 4,400 square feet and boasting a selection of over 1,200 wines, alongside a variety of beers, spirits, and alcohol-free alternatives. The Plymouth location represents the sixth new outlet Majestic Wine has inaugurated this financial year, underlining the company’s expansion ambitions.
In addition to the Plymouth store, Majestic has recently commenced operations in a new 3,450 square foot facility in Solihull, succeeding the launch of two stores in East Dulwich and Brentwood, Essex. This growth aligns with the retailer’s broader plans to embed itself more deeply into various communities, particularly with the festive season approaching. Chief Executive Officer John Colley stated, “Plymouth is a city we’ve been targeting for some time as part of our expansion plans, so we are delighted to finally be opening our newest store here. Everyone at Majestic is looking forward to welcoming hundreds of new customers from the local community and sharing our award-winning wines and expert knowledge with them.”
Majestic Wine’s dedication to experiential, bricks-and-mortar retail is evident. The company takes pride in its ongoing investments across towns and cities, including Solihull. They anticipate these new openings will foster closer ties with communities as the holiday season nears and in future years.
Additionally, there has been a notable surge in demand for organic wines, with Majestic reporting an almost doubling of sales in this category over the past year. This increase reflects a growing consumer interest in environmentally friendly options, which is reshaping availability and consumer expectations.
Majestic Wine’s latest store openings represent a robust commitment to growth and community engagement as it broadens its retail footprint.
