Maya Jama, the well-known television host, is now the co-owner of a Swedish plant milk company known as Sproud.
Sproud, recognised for its use of yellow split-peas in producing milk, offers a unique alternative to traditional dairy products. This plant-based product claims significant health benefits, boasting a superior nutritional profile compared to other dairy alternatives like oat milk. It is low in sugar, high in protein, and is free from allergens, setting it apart as a healthier option for consumers.
The company’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its production process, which reportedly has a lower environmental impact compared to other plant milks. Sproud’s products are already available in major retailers like Waitrose, Ocado, and Amazon, reflecting its growing presence in the market.
Maya Jama expressed her enthusiasm about this new role, stating, “I’m really excited to become a co-owner of Sproud. There’s a lot to love – the products taste amazing, and the packaging is eye-catching, too, but ultimately I like what the company stands for in terms of health and sustainability.” Her personal connection to Sweden, through her mother’s heritage, adds a personal dimension to her involvement.
Sproud’s CEO, Sara Berger, welcomed Jama’s association with the brand. She highlighted the brand’s ambition to increase awareness and normalise plant-based milk choices in the UK and beyond. Jama’s role as a brand ambassador and strategic advisor is seen as pivotal in driving this vision forward.
Through this investment, Maya Jama is setting a forward-thinking example by aligning with a brand that prioritises health and environmental sustainability.
