British luxury brand Mulberry has proudly joined the ranks of B Corp certified companies, becoming part of a distinguished community dedicated to sustainable business practices. Mulberry achieved a commendable score of 87.1 out of 140 on the B Impact Assessment, exceeding both the B Corp baseline and the fashion industry average, which is 80.9.
The B Corp certification reflects Mulberry’s ongoing commitment to its five sustainability pillars: climate, cultivation, craft, circularity, and culture. These pillars guide the brand’s efforts to create a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly operation.
As part of its sustainability strategy, Mulberry has set an ambitious target to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2035. The brand is also dedicated to cultivating relationships with regenerative farmers and establishing end-to-end sustainable supply chains.
Further advancing its environmental commitments, Mulberry plans to globally expand its successful resale and repair programme, known as Mulberry Exchange, to countries such as Korea, Australia, and Japan.
Mulberry is committed to paying its workers the Real Living Wage, a voluntary rate set by the Living Wage Foundation, and is working with suppliers to ensure they follow suit.
Andrea Baldo, appointed CEO in July, stated that this certification symbolises a significant milestone in Mulberry’s ongoing journey to make a positive impact on communities and the environment. Baldo added, “Mulberry is one of the first global luxury brands to become a B Corp… it reflects the DNA of the company and the hard work of the teams.”
Mulberry’s B Corp certification marks a pivotal step in its sustainability journey, setting a benchmark for others in the luxury fashion industry to follow.
