In a significant move for fashion retail, womenswear brands Nobody’s Child and Whistles are set to open new stores in London’s Covent Garden. These openings mark a strategic expansion for both brands, highlighting their commitment to establishing a strong presence in prime retail locations. The new stores will broaden the reach of these popular brands and offer their latest collections to a discerning audience. As the retail landscape evolves, such expansions underscore the importance of physical storefronts in complementing online sales channels.
Nobody’s Child, after its successful pop-up venture in Covent Garden’s Long Acre last year, is set to launch its largest store to date at 3 Neal Street on 10 August. The 2,044 square foot, two-floor unit is a testament to the brand’s growing popularity and ambition in the competitive fashion market. Located amidst other leading fashion and beauty brands, this store represents a strategic move to strengthen its footprint in one of London’s most vibrant shopping areas.
The brand’s CEO, Jody Plows, expressed enthusiasm for the new location, highlighting its proximity to bustling Long Acre and the presence of other notable names in fashion and beauty. “After a successful pop-up on Long Acre last year, we knew Covent Garden was the ideal location to launch our third permanent site,” she stated.
Alongside Nobody’s Child, Whistles will open a 3,669 square foot store at 117 Long Acre on 11 September. Known for its strategic site selection, Whistles aims to enhance its brand visibility with bigger and better stores in prime locations, reflecting its expansion strategy seen in recent openings in Manchester and Kent. The upcoming store is part of Whistles’ ongoing effort to adapt and thrive in a changing retail environment.
These new additions to Covent Garden are part of a broader trend, with other brands like Finisterre and Axel Arigato also establishing a presence in the area. Such movements suggest a revitalised interest in physical shopping experiences, complementing the digital retail surge.
These strategic openings by Nobody’s Child and Whistles in Covent Garden highlight a robust approach to blending physical retail with their existing online presence.
