Former Ocado Solutions CEO, Luke Jensen, is poised for a transformative role at Hana Group, a prominent provider of on-the-go sushi and pan-Asian cuisine. Having served as a non-executive director of the group since 2015, Jensen will now assume the position of executive chairman. His new role will see him collaborating closely with CEO Ed Romero and the management team to steer global strategy and operations.
Last month, Jensen announced his decision to step down as Ocado Solutions CEO, effective from 30 September. His tenure since 2017 was marked by significant global expansion, highlighted by international partnerships ranging from Bon Preu to Lotte in Korea. Prior to his role at Ocado, he was instrumental at Sainsbury’s as Group Development Director, overseeing online, digital, and customer-facing initiatives.
Jensen’s succession follows Steve Dacus’s tenure as chairman over the past four years. Dacus, remaining on the board, expressed confidence in Jensen’s capacity to further Hana Group’s strategic growth, citing his strong track record in transformational and operational roles. Jensen’s previous experience at Ocado is anticipated to be an asset for Hana Group as it explores mergers and acquisitions to expedite growth plans.
Steve Dacus remarked, ‘I have had the pleasure of working closely with Luke over the last four years and there is no doubt that his strong transformational and operational track record will be extremely valuable assets for the Group as it enters the next phase of strategic growth.’
Jensen acknowledged the growing global demand for sushi and pan-Asian cuisines, attributing it to consumer preferences for healthy and convenient meals. He praised Hana Group’s innovative approach, customer service and consumer experience, which have established its market leadership.
Jensen affirmed his enthusiasm for deepening collaboration with the management team to execute ambitious global strategies and actively investigate potential merger and acquisition opportunities to accelerate growth.
Luke Jensen’s move to Hana Group signifies a strategic alignment aimed at leveraging his expertise for global expansion.
