Future Stores, an innovative retail concept, is poised to open its doors on Oxford Street in the coming month. Occupying a 435 square metre space, the establishment seeks to blend the realms of media, retail, and digital performance marketing into a singular, immersive experience. This pioneering effort aims to create a hybrid platform where brands can engage with consumers effectively.
The location at 95 Oxford Street will host a rotating selection of well-known brands from diverse industries. These entities have the opportunity to rent space within the store to present their products and services to the vast crowd that frequents the bustling shopping thoroughfare, estimated to be 1.3 million individuals monthly.
The store will be outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, including LED displays covering both walls and ceilings. Moreover, Future Stores will employ advanced data capture techniques, enabling brands to obtain invaluable customer insights, thus enhancing their marketing campaigns and driving sales.
A notable comment from Ariel Haroush, the founder and chair of the start-up, reflects the ambition behind the initiative. He remarked, “As we move towards the opening in autumn, not only are we delighted to create 40 new jobs, but also look forward to changing the face of retail, through a concept that asks why the high street can’t be as dynamic as your Instagram feed – ever changing, ever engaging, and that is exactly what we plan to deliver with this world first.”
This development coincides with major changes to Oxford Street itself, as announced by London Mayor Sadiq Khan. The proposal to pedestrianise the street aims to revitalise the area, reinstating its status as a premier shopping destination. Despite previous opposition from Westminster Council regarding traffic rerouting, these plans are now moving forward.
The inception of Future Stores signals a reimagined future for retail on Oxford Street, complementing ongoing urban developments.
