- These strategic appointments signify Poundstretcher’s commitment to leadership excellence and customer focus.
In a strategic move to fortify its leadership, Poundstretcher has appointed several former Morrisons executives. This development follows the acquisition by private equity firm Fortress, which saw Andy Atkinson, previously a commercial director at Morrisons, step into the role of CEO at Poundstretcher.
Newly appointed Operations Director, Miles Foster, brings with him 35 years of experience from Morrisons. Foster will have a significant role in overseeing Poundstretcher’s more than 300 stores, directing the retailer’s growth plan under Atkinson’s guidance.
Alongside Foster, Tony Fearon assumes the role of Group Commercial Director. Having joined earlier in the summer, Fearon will lead the trading team strengthened by Connor Black, known for his expertise as a former Morrisons buying executive.
Liz Harris joins as the head of retail operations after nearly two decades with Morrisons. Her team is further supported by Annette Beecham and Mandy Fitzpatrick, who bring experience from Home Bargains, B&M, and Poundland.
CEO Andy Atkinson expresses enthusiasm about the new team, remarking, “As we start this long and important journey, I am delighted that such a talented group of leaders have chosen to take the next step in their careers with us. These people are the best in the industry, and share our values in supporting our colleagues, and putting customers first.”
Poundstretcher’s recruitment of top Morrisons executives underscores its strategic focus on leadership and expansion.
