In anticipation of World Kindness Day, shoppers are being urged to recognise outstanding store colleagues.
Ahead of World Kindness Day on 13 November, an initiative is encouraging shoppers to nominate store workers who have made a positive impact on their shopping experience. Whether it involves assisting them in locating products or engaging in a friendly conversation, these gestures of kindness are to be acknowledged.
Store colleagues who accumulate the most nominations will be rewarded with a spa break for two, demonstrating appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Participation requires submitting the colleague’s name, store location, and a brief explanation of their deserving contribution, by 11 December, via the specified email address.
Richard Thornton, a communications director, emphasised the importance of recognising even the smallest acts of kindness, highlighting the significant role these gestures play in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for customers. He stated, ‘We believe that every act of kindness deserves recognition and celebration.’
The initiative coincides with the chain’s call for charities, community groups, and food banks across the UK to register for surplus food donations from its stores during the Christmas period. By partnering with the community giving platform Neighbourly, charities will pair with local stores to receive fresh and chilled food products nearing their expiration date.
This initiative not only celebrates the kindness of store colleagues but also reinforces community support through surplus food donations.
