Represent, the renowned streetwear brand, is set to inaugurate its first permanent UK store in Manchester, marking a significant expansion milestone. The store, situated on New Cathedral Street in Manchester City Centre, will welcome customers this Saturday, 26 October. The move follows a substantial period of growth for the brand, notably after launching a boutique in West Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Occupying 5,419 square feet, the new retail space will prominently feature Represent’s latest performance wear line, dubbed 247. According to the company, the 247 line is the fastest-growing branch of their business and is predicted to make up 14% of their total revenue by the end of 2024.
Since the brand’s inception in 2011 by brothers George and Michael Heaton, Represent has grown impressively. What started in their father’s shed has flourished into one of the UK’s fastest-growing private companies, as acknowledged by The Sunday Times in June. Initially, Represent operated exclusively online, partnering with iconic retailers such as Selfridges and Harrods.
Exhibiting noteworthy financial ambitions, Represent projects a turnover of £100 million by the end of this year and aims to reach £250 million by 2028. The decision to establish their flagship store in Manchester is a nod to the brand’s roots and headquarters.
Founder and creative director George Heaton articulated this vision, expressing that opening their first physical UK store was a “natural progression.” He maintained that Manchester was the only choice for this venture, highlighting its importance to their identity.
The opening of Represent’s Manchester store signifies a key step in the brand’s ambitious growth trajectory.
