Tesco has revealed plans to improve its online delivery service ahead of Christmas 2024.
- The supermarket giant will introduce 60 additional delivery vans to address heightened demand.
- Thousands of extra delivery slots will be available in the lead-up to Christmas Day.
- Priority bookings are accessible on 5 November for subscribed customers, with general access from 13 November.
- The Whoosh service will expand, providing more last-minute delivery options on Christmas Eve.
In a strategic move to enhance its service during the festive season, Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket, is rolling out significant improvements to its online delivery operations. Recognising the increased demand during this period, Tesco is deploying 60 additional vans across its delivery network. This initiative aims to offer ‘thousands of extra slots across the UK’, particularly in the two weeks preceding Christmas Day.
Acknowledging the importance of seamless festive preparations, customers enrolled in Tesco’s anytime delivery saver or click-and-collect plan will enjoy priority access to booking slots from 5 November, beginning at 6am. This privilege gives dedicated Tesco shoppers the advantage of securing their deliverables earlier than the general public, whose access begins on 13 November at the same early hour.
Emphasising customer convenience, Tesco has enhanced its Whoosh service, notably increasing capacity to accommodate last-minute requirements. This will be particularly beneficial on Christmas Eve, allowing customers to order forgotten essentials and ensure a complete festive feast. This expansion reflects Tesco’s commitment to catering to all customer needs during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
Tom Denyard, the managing director at Tesco online, expressed enthusiasm about the enhanced services, saying, ‘We’re looking forward to helping customers across the UK pick up their family favourites or treat themselves to something special this festive season.’ His comments underscore Tesco’s dedication to improving customer experience through increased service capabilities.
Tesco demonstrates a proactive approach in preparing for Christmas 2024 by enhancing delivery services and prioritising customer convenience.
