For the first time, Tesco is including a non-alcoholic beer in its ‘Finest Dine In for Two’ range, marking a significant shift towards accommodating diverse consumer preferences.
As the demand for no and low alcohol beverages continues to rise, Tesco’s decision to incorporate Lucky Saint’s alcohol-free lager represents a forward-thinking approach. Sales of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks have soared, with a notable 15% increase in beer and cider during Dry January 2024. This trend has persisted, with even higher sales recorded in the summer, coinciding with popular events such as the Euros.
Lucky Saint founder, Luke Boase, expressed pride in this collaboration, acknowledging the increasing number of consumers opting for alcohol-free beers during both weekdays and weekends. He stated, ‘Demand for alcohol-free beer in supermarkets continues to rise with increasing numbers of people buying alcohol-free beer when choosing what to drink.’ The inclusion in Tesco’s ‘Finest Dine In’ range offers a new dimension of choice for shoppers, allowing them to enjoy quality meals paired with non-alcoholic beverages.
Beyond the introduction of alcohol-free beer, Tesco is expanding its seasonal selection for the autumn and winter. The ‘Finest Dine In for Two’ deal, priced at £12 with a Clubcard, now features 11 new dishes, enhancing options with a variety of mains, sides, and desserts. Among the new offerings are Chicken & Serrano Ham with Beurre Blanc Sauce, Fish Pie, and Lemon and Mascarpone Cheesecake Slices. This range aims to provide a gourmet dining experience at home, complete with a diverse range of flavours and textures.
Tesco’s inclusion of non-alcoholic lager in its meal deal signifies a broader trend towards accommodating changing consumer preferences for healthier, varied beverage options.
