The Entertainer has successfully established over 850 toy bazaars within Tesco stores, significantly expanding its presence across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
In an impressive feat of retail innovation, The Entertainer has launched 861 toy shop-in-shops within large Tesco stores in just eight months. This ambitious expansion places The Entertainer’s offerings within reach of over 90% of the UK shoppers, a strategic move to enhance accessibility to their diverse range of toys.
The rollout was facilitated by the opening of a new distribution centre, tasked with meeting the burgeoning demand and ensuring the seamless stocking of these concessions. On average, around 100 new shop-in-shops opened each month, reflecting the agility and efficiency of the company’s operations.
Andrew Murphy, The Entertainer’s Chief Executive, emphasised the significance of this expansion: “This rollout has significantly increased our retail footprint in the UK and Ireland – putting over 90% of the UK’s shoppers within easy reach of our unmatched toy offer. The speed and impact of this growth is a testament to our team’s agility, attention to detail and a deep understanding of customer needs.”
The partnership with Tesco marks a pivotal step in The Entertainer’s strategy to broaden its ‘Toy Box’ retail solution for multi-category retailers. Nevertheless, the company is also eyeing further collaborations domestically and internationally in the near future.
Tesco’s managing director of home and clothing, Jan Marchant, also echoed enthusiasm for the completion of the rollout, noting the convenience it brings to customers. “We’re delighted The Entertainer rollout to Tesco stores across the UK is now complete, meaning even more customers can access their great range of toys. It’s now even easier for customers to pick up a gift for their little ones in store, alongside their usual grocery shop.”
