Three renowned Manchester-based businesses—Manchester Union Brewery, Trof, and Wandering Palate—are collaborating to launch a new culinary and beverage venue, The Trading Route, in the St John’s district of Manchester. The location is known for its burgeoning development, positioning the new establishment to cater to a diverse crowd.
Slated for a November opening, The Trading Route will offer an innovative blend of culinary experiences, featuring crispy whole and half chickens from a bespoke rotisserie, alongside porchetta, pickles, and dips. The Trof team is responsible for crafting this eclectic menu, which also includes focaccia, fresh salads, and homemade desserts.
Wandering Palate will enhance the venue with a curated selection of upscale pantry items. Will Evans, representing Wandering Palate, expresses excitement about introducing their exquisite wines, cheeses, and deli favourites to the city centre, aiming to attract a sophisticated clientele looking for something special to take home.
Meanwhile, the venue will serve as a de facto tap room for Manchester Union Brewery, offering their unique lagers using a continental pouring style, complemented by bespoke Tübinger glasses, promising patrons an authentic beer experience. The interior of The Trading Route is being designed by PHAUS, a Manchester-based studio acclaimed for its work on esteemed projects like Jane Eyre, Erst, and Freight Island. The venue, with its capacity to accommodate 150 guests and both indoor and outdoor seating options, is anticipated to be a vibrant hub of activity.
