Wilko has successfully returned to the London retail scene by opening its new Uxbridge store. The 30,000 square-foot outlet, located within The Pavilions Shopping Centre, marks a substantial presence with two levels dedicated to various consumer needs.
Shoppers at the Uxbridge store can explore a vast selection of goods across categories like cleaning supplies, DIY, home improvement, and pet care. Notably, the facility enhances customer convenience by offering self-service terminals that enable access to Wilko’s extensive online catalogue of over 100,000 items, with quick options for home delivery or in-store collection.
This initiative is the latest in Wilko’s expansion drive, following recent store launches in Poole, Exeter, Luton, Plymouth, St Albans, and Rotherham. Alex Simpkin, CEO of CDS Superstores, expressed enthusiasm for the warm reception in Uxbridge and emphasised the company’s commitment to providing quality products at value prices, highlighting the positive initial response from the local community.
CDS Superstores recently expanded its market reach by acquiring Homebase. This acquisition involves the intellectual property and up to 70 UK stores, which will continue to trade as Homebase before transitioning to The Range stores. The rebranding aims to offer a broader selection in garden, showroom, and DIY markets.
Wilko’s return to London through the Uxbridge store exemplifies its strategic growth and commitment to customer value.
