Wyke Farms, a historic cheese producer based in Somerset, recently revealed a refreshed packaging design for its range of premium cheddar and butter products. This move is part of a strategic effort to position the company for future growth in an evolving market.
The rebranding initiative was executed by the design and marketing agency Big Fish. This update follows a similar refresh of the company’s Ivy’s Reserve brand undertaken in 2021, reflecting a sustained commitment to visual and brand evolution.
In a competitive industry, Wyke Farms distinguished itself by winning the Environmental Leadership Award at the Food and Drink Federation Awards. The company’s dedication to sustainability, particularly its commitment to sourcing energy from biogas and solar power, was a significant factor in this recognition.
Managing Director Rich Clothier emphasised the company’s commitment to innovation in the dairy sector: “Our goal has always been to innovate and lead the way as a family-owned business with sustainability enshrined in our core values.” This forward-thinking approach has been central to Wyke Farms’ strategy.
Financially, Wyke Farms has witnessed substantial growth, reporting a 68.4% increase in operating profits to £10.9 million for the year ending March 31, 2023. One of the key drivers has been its anaerobic digestion-based energy business, which sold over 60% of its surplus green gas back to the National Grid at elevated prices, contributing to a 20% increase in turnover to £149.5 million.
Wyke Farms exemplifies innovation and sustainability, poised for future success.
