Retail law firm Gordons has significantly contributed to one of the UK’s largest logistics transactions this year by advising retail giant B&M on leasing a 674,265 sq ft distribution centre located in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. This cutting-edge facility, referred to as Link 674, is poised to function as a vital import hub backing B&M’s strategic expansion plans across the country.
The newly secured ten-year lease, arranged with real estate investor Cain International, marks another achievement in the over 20-year partnership between Gordons and B&M. The firm’s commercial property partner, Joanne Fearnley, spearheaded the complex lease negotiations, ensuring a favourable arrangement for B&M.
With operations set to begin in 2025, Link 674 will play a crucial role in B&M’s expansion, supporting their target of extending their UK store network to over 1,200 locations. In the last six months alone, B&M has launched 30 new outlets, demonstrating a robust growth momentum.
Joanne Fearnley expressed satisfaction in being part of this deal, highlighting the intricate lease negotiations handled by Gordons. “We are very pleased to have played our part in securing the deal by advising on the complex lease negotiations and look forward to seeing Link 674 become operational for our client next year. We have a longstanding trusted relationship with B&M,” she stated.
Throughout their collaboration, Gordons has provided crucial advice to B&M on more than 600 store acquisitions, cementing their reputation as leading experts in retail law.
