LCF Law, a prominent legal firm in Yorkshire, has announced its commitment to support Yorkshire Cancer Research throughout 2024. This initiative is marked by a series of innovative fundraising activities aimed at generating substantial financial support for cancer research. The firm is rallying its team and fostering a spirit of philanthropy that could significantly impact cancer research efforts.
Among the planned activities, a highlight is the participation of thirteen members from LCF Law in the Leeds half marathon on 13 May. This event stands as the firm’s main fundraiser, showcasing both personal and collective determination. Cycling enthusiasts within the firm are also preparing for the ‘Tour De LCF Law’ challenge, where participants aim to complete 1,064 miles—the equivalent distance from Yorkshire to the Tour De France finish in Nice. This journey will be achieved through various physical activities, both within and outside the office, including cycling, running, walking, and rowing.
A collaborative spirit is evident as LCF Law partners with fitness company PureGym to facilitate the cycling challenge with static bikes installed in their offices. The miles covered in this challenge will represent not just distance but also the dedication of each participant supporting a crucial cause.
In previous years, LCF Law has supported various charities, reinforcing its commitment to community and social responsibility. Last year’s efforts resulted in a £10,000 fund being raised for the Bone Cancer Trust, following an inspiring presentation by Sarah McCann, a member of the firm.
A significant motivator for this year’s chosen charity is personal experiences with cancer among the team. One member shared, ‘Cancer is a horrible disease, and everyone will know someone close to them who has or is fighting a fight against it.’ This personal connection underscores the importance of their fundraising efforts and highlights the broader impact of cancer research.
LCF Law’s commitment to Yorkshire Cancer Research exemplifies their dedication to both community involvement and impactful philanthropy.
