Raworths, a well-regarded firm based in Harrogate, has introduced Alison Walker and Sam Jenner as the new joint heads of its Trusts, Wills, and Estates (TWE) team. This leadership change is a strategic move for the 23-member team, known for its excellence in the legal field.
The team was recently honoured with the prestigious ‘Out of London Practice of the Year’ award at the Chambers High Net Worth Awards 2024. This recognition highlights their exceptional service and client satisfaction, pivotal in their acclaim.
Rachel Tunnicliffe, who has successfully led the team for the past decade, will now concentrate on her expanding role as senior partner at Raworths. Her leadership saw the team grow significantly, becoming one of the largest private client practices in Yorkshire. Tunnicliffe expressed her confidence in the new leaders, stating, “I’m so proud of this incredible team. On the back of achieving national recognition at the recent Chambers HNW awards – which are solely based on feedback from our clients and contacts – now is the perfect time to hand over the reins.”
Under Tunnicliffe’s guidance, Raworths’ TWE team has secured top-tier rankings in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide and the Legal 500, reinforcing their standing in the legal community. Her continued role will focus on her responsibilities as head of private client services while maintaining strong relationships with her long-term clients.
Alison Walker, who joined Raworths in 2015, offers expertise in wills, trusts, succession planning, wealth structuring, and tax advice, particularly for business owners. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead, saying, “I’d like to thank Raworths for this opportunity. Rachel has been an inspirational leader over the last ten years, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work alongside Sam to oversee the future direction of the team.”
Sam Jenner, with the firm since 2014, brings a rich background in succession planning, estate administration, and tax issues, alongside spearheading IT projects for the firm. He emphasised the importance of mentorship and joint leadership, noting, “I have really enjoyed mentoring junior team members and as joint head of TWE, I hope to play an even bigger role in the development of the next generation of talented lawyers.”
Both Alison and Sam are dedicated to mentoring younger team members, ensuring the continuation of high standards and innovative approaches within the team. Their balanced approach to leadership promises to uphold the firm’s reputation for excellence.
The transition in leadership marks a new chapter for Raworths, poised to continue its legacy of excellence in legal services.
