In celebration of a significant milestone, Walker Foster Solicitors chose a unique way to mark their 105th anniversary. They traded their professional attire for walking boots to take part in a charity walk aimed at raising funds for The Principle Trust, an organisation dedicated to offering support to children facing adversity. Participants walked an impressive 13 miles from their office in Skipton to Silsden, collectively achieving over 37,000 steps. The walk successfully raised £700, exemplifying the firm’s commitment to community service.
This initiative is part of Walker Foster’s broader partnership with the Skipton-based The Principle Trust, a charity that provides free holidays for children who are underprivileged, disabled, or who have been impacted by poverty or trauma. Walker Foster has continuously supported this cause, previously assisting in the preparation of holiday homes for the charity’s beneficiaries. Kelly Chambers, the head of people at Walker Foster, expressed gratitude towards everyone who supported their recent event, emphasising its importance in marking over a century of dedicated service to local communities.
The Principle Trust, founded by Mike Davies, MBE, operates on a 100% donation policy, ensuring that all funds directly benefit the children and families it supports. Since its inception in 2011, the Trust has raised over £1.7 million and provided 5,000 children with valuable respite holidays. In 2024, the Trust plans to offer more than 200 families a week-long holiday, benefitting from a wide network of patrons and fundraisers across Yorkshire.
Mike Davies expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of Walker Foster, highlighting how such partnerships enable the Trust to extend its reach and continue making a positive impact in the lives of numerous children. He remarked on the value of creating happy memories for children who otherwise face everyday challenges, thanks to the generous support of firms like Walker Foster.
