A significant relocation is happening in Bristol’s professional services sector as law firm Shakespeare Martineau and planning, design, and development consultancy Marrons move to a new office hub. These firms, both part of the Ampa group, are set to operate from One Temple Quay, leaving their previous location at Queen Square.
The newly acquired office space at Temple Back East boasts an array of modern amenities, including 30 desks, four meeting rooms, and a 140-person auditorium designed for hosting events. In addition, the hub offers shared collaborative spaces, breakout zones, bike storage, an outside courtyard for relaxation, and an on-site restaurant, all contributing to a conducive working environment.
Nick Jones, who co-heads Shakespeare Martineau’s Bristol hub, commented on the transition, highlighting that the move represents their commitment to fostering an ’empowered and collaborative working ethos.’ Jones added that the modern, accessible space is engineered to evolve alongside the firm’s growing needs, accommodating both their people and clients in a flexible manner.
Tom Macklen, the architecture director at Marrons, echoed this sentiment, emphasising their dedication to creativity and collaboration in a space that is aligned with their values of sustainability and growth. Macklen expressed eagerness to expand the firm’s footprint within the vibrant Bristol business community.
The strategic decision for Shakespeare Martineau to establish a presence in Bristol dates back to its 2022 merger with GL Law, which saw over 60 individuals added to their roster. Marrons followed suit in 2023, creating a new architecture team as part of their broader growth strategy in the South West.
The relocation underscores a strategic effort by both firms to align their operational spaces with their ambitious growth and collaborative goals.
