In a strategic move to enhance its manufacturing process, one of Britain’s leading bakers, Hovis, is set to incorporate advanced artificial intelligence technology. The company has partnered with Sheffield-based software firm IntelliAM AI to expand the use of AI in its bread production processes.
Hovis will implement IntelliAM’s AI solutions across three of its significant sites located in East London, Nottingham, and Glasgow. This initiative is poised to support and stabilise the firm’s operational capabilities within these major facilities.
IntelliAM AI specialises in developing AI-driven software aimed at improving efficiency in the manufacturing sector. Their platform utilises machine learning to streamline industrial asset management, optimise productivity, and drive down operational costs. By analysing data points such as machinery alarms, vibration levels, oil consumption, and energy use, the platform seeks to support businesses dealing with skills shortages, system compatibility challenges, and financial constraints.
Although the precise scale of the Hovis deal remains undisclosed, IntelliAM AI has confirmed that the agreement involves service and project orders exceeding £100,000 over a forthcoming twelve-month period. This development follows IntelliAM AI’s recent flotation on the Aquis Stock Exchange Growth Market, which raised £5 million, providing the company with a market capitalisation of approximately £15 million.
Further highlighting its progressive expansion, IntelliAM AI completed the acquisition of engineering group 53 North for £5 million shortly after its stock exchange flotation. This acquisition, along with its recent agreements, underscores IntelliAM’s commitment to growth and innovation in the AI sector.
Hovis’s adoption of IntelliAM’s AI technology marks a significant milestone in modernising its production practices.
