Ori Industries is breaking new ground as the first UK data centre to integrate Nvidia’s H200 chips, expected to transform the AI landscape. Effective from January 2025, this development is part of Ori’s strategy to meet the demands of AI companies requiring UK-based computing resources.
Following this, Ori plans to introduce Nvidia’s GB200 exascale computers in April 2025. These powerful systems necessitate sophisticated cooling and energy solutions, with preparations already in motion at a UK facility.
Ori’s CEO and founder, Mahdi Yahya, stated, “Ori will be the first to deploy Nvidia H200 GPUs in a UK data centre, offering them to UK businesses and international companies requiring UK-based compute from January 2025.” This position underscores Ori’s commitment to advancing the UK’s technological infrastructure.
Founded in 2018, Ori specialises in providing GPU cloud infrastructure tailored for AI applications. The company has secured backing from Episode Ventures and Force Over Mass Capital, illustrating strong investor confidence. Yahya has highlighted the need for enhancing the UK’s sovereign cloud capabilities to support such advancements.
In conjunction with the rollout of H200 chips, London-based hyperscaler Nscale plans to utilise these alongside AMD Instinct GPUs. Their data centre in Glomfjord, Norway exemplifies their commitment to sustainability, powered by renewable energy sources. Nscale’s expansion is underscored by a successful $155m Series A funding round, marking one of the UK’s significant fundraising achievements.
Ori’s initiatives place the UK at the forefront of AI and cloud technology advancements.
