AIM-listed Pennant International has recently announced significant changes in its leadership team by appointing two seasoned professionals. His appointment is expected to bring significant value, given his extensive experience in supporting technology-led businesses in public markets.
Darren Wiggins has been appointed as the interim chief finance officer on an eight-month fixed-term contract. He brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles in aerospace and defence firm Meggitt and manufacturer Melrose, including his significant operational and financial expertise. His role will not be part of the board but will involve key support to the board as Pennant approaches the end of its financial year and looks ahead into 2025.
Klaas van der Leest’s career is notable for his leadership at Intercede since 2018, an AIM-quoted business, and his earlier roles as managing director of Intelecom UK. With a strong focus on product development and sales strategies in UK technology businesses, Mr. van der Leest is expected to make substantial contributions to Pennant’s evolving software suite.
Darren Wiggins’ background as a chartered accountant and his leadership roles in senior finance and operational positions provide him with the expertise needed to guide Pennant through a critical transitional period.
Ian Dighé, chair of Pennant, expressed enthusiasm over these appointments, highlighting the invaluable expertise Klaas van der Leest brings to the board and the complementary skills Darren Wiggins adds to the senior management team’s existing capabilities.
These strategic appointments reflect Pennant International’s commitment to advancing its leadership and enhancing its market position.
